Description and objectives

his project aims to improve environmental quality in the municipalities of Ausonia, Coreno Ausonio and Castelnuovo Parano, providing this area with an efficient system for the collection and purification of urban wastewater.

Project Objectives:

Convey the wastewater from the Municipality of Ausonia to the Torrerisi purification plant.
Convey wastewater from the municipalities of Coreno Ausonio and Castelnuovo Parano to the new purification system.

The project, therefore, includes all the civil works and the installation of the electro-mechanical works of the treatment plant, designed for a future capacity of 4,000 e.i. (equivalent inhabitants), divided into two treatment lines. In addition, it includes the construction of sewage collectors in Selvacava and "Production facilities" to convey wastewater to the new plant.

Planned Interventions

Transformation of the Torrerisi Purification Plant

- Transform the existing plant into a modern ‘nitro-denitro’ type active sludge plantwith tertiary refinement.

- Size the plant for a future capacity of 4,000 equivalent inhabitants (e.i.), divided into two treatment lines.

Ausonia sewage system

- Create the Selvacava collector to connect this town to the existing sewerage system.

- Build the "Production facilities" collector to convey the wastewater to the new purification plant.

Castelnuovo Parano collector

Create a collector to channel the wastewater from Castelnuovo Parano into the sewage network of Ausonia, directed to the new sewage treatment plant.

Sewerage system of Coreno Ausonio

- Build the Pimpinelli collector to collect sewage from the towns of Casali and Pimpinelli.

- Create the SS630 collector to convey the Coreno Ausonio wastewater to the Ausonia sewage network, directed to the new purification plant.
